The division was established in August 1996 on the basis of the Laboratory of diagnostic of ecological situations, existing in INENCO since 1991.
Its objectives are

fundamental and applied research in the field of ecological safety and development of new recycling technologies;

standardization of technologies in accordance with the normative documentation of Russian Legislation and international requirements in the frameworks of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000.

Areas of activity:

1. Development of scientific and methodological fundamentals of toxicological, biological and physicochemical diagnostic of the state of environment, both in normal, and in extreme situations, in view of landscape and legislative aspects.

2. Research of migration and transformation of the priority pollutants in different units of environment (water, air, soil, food).

3. Providing of the preliminary ecological and hygienic expertise of manufacturing technologies and equipment; development of ecological programs for the industrial enterprises.

4. Research and design of the new generation of ecologically -safe equipment and manufacturing systems.

5. Elaboration of equipment for utilization of municipal and industrial sewage, solid and paste wastes.
