Re: URGENT - Postponement of INDEX 2001 Congress in Rome

Dear INDEX 2001 participants,

As you may be aware through preliminary communications, due to the tragic international situation, we are all experiencing and taking into account that many of you would not be able to attend. We have therefore taken the decision to cancel the October event in full consultation with the Co-Chairmen of the Organizing Committee and other key personalities involved.

We are sure that you will agree with this choice.

As suggested by many of the consulted persons, the event should be rescheduled for the next Spring. This will depend on the evolving international situation.

We certainly hope to continue our international scientific and technical cooperation in the best possible way .
